Byron Bay is exactly what you think it is, chill and cruisey and it is exactly what you need.
There are many shuttle buses from Coolangatta to Byron Bay, it just takes 45 minutes and the scenery on the drive is gorgeous. My boyfriend and I stayed at the Lord Byron Resort, great location, less than 5 mins walk to the main street, free wifi and has a pool.
